Position Overview
The Project Manager (PM) serves as the central coordinator in the successful execution of industrial automation projects within a systems integrator environment. The PM’s primary responsibilities include managing logistics, tracking and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring that all project deliverables meet client expectations and contractual requirements. Acting as the communication and decision-making hub, the PM leads project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk mitigation efforts. Working in close coordination with the project team—comprised of engineering and field personnel, ensuring seamless collaboration across design, development, and on-site implementation. This role is essential to deliver high-quality SCADA and automation solutions on time and within scope, while upholding client satisfaction and performance standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead multiple SCADA and automation projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate engineering, field, and commissioning activities with internal teams and clients to maintain project continuity and quality.
- Manage schedules, budgets, forecasts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and client deliverables.
- Act as primary client liaison, facilitating communication, milestone tracking, and issue resolution.
- Support procurement, vendor coordination, and delivery logistics to maintain project timelines.
- Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and resource planning in collaboration with technical and business teams.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and client standards throughout project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field; equivalent work experience considered for Level 1.
- 3–10 years of progressive project management experience in systems integration, industrial automation, or utility infrastructure environments.
- Working knowledge (Level 1) to advanced understanding (Level 3) of SCADA, PLC, HMI, and related industrial control systems.
- Proficiency with project scheduling and resource tracking tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional technical teams, vendors, and clients across multiple concurrent projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and support both field and office operations effectively.
Compliance & Availability
- Must be eligible to pass Department of Defense (DoD) background checks and routine drug screening.
- Possess a valid California driver’s license with a clean driving and criminal record.
- Willing and able to travel to job sites, including occasional overnight stays; on-call availability as project needs dictate.
Certifications (Preferred, but not required)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred; ability to obtain independently within 12 months.

Familiarity with municipal infrastructure, SCADA telemetry systems, pump control, and regulatory reporting is essential. Engineers must understand EPA compliance standards and work frequently with city agencies, utility operators, and contractors.
Food & Beverage
This role supports automation systems in food and beverage processing plants. Emphasis is placed on sanitary design, CIP/SIP operations, batch processing, traceability, and integration with MES/ERP systems. Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and FSMA regulations is highly desirable, along with experience in maintaining production continuity and system validation practices.
